Responsibilities
- Define and drive the long-term backend architecture strategy aligned with business goals
- Oversee system design across multiple services, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security
- Establish architectural standards, design patterns, and engineering best practices across the organization
- Lead technical due diligence, risk assessment, and trade-off analysis for major engineering decisions
- Drive platform modernization initiatives and technical debt reduction
- Champion observability, performance engineering, and operational excellence
- Lead, mentor, and grow a team of backend architects and senior engineers
- Conduct regular 1:1s, performance reviews, and career development planning
- Drive hiring and onboarding for the backend architecture team
- Foster a culture of technical excellence, collaboration, and knowledge sharing
- Coordinate cross-team technical initiatives and resolve architectural conflicts

Requirements
- 10+ years of backend engineering experience, including 3+ years in a lead or principal role
- Proven track record designing and scaling distributed systems in production
- Strong experience leading and mentoring engineering teams
- Deep expertise in backend languages (Java, Go, Python, Node.js, or similar)
-Extensive knowledge of distributed systems, microservices, event-driven architecture, and API design
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS / GCP / Azure) and modern infrastructure practices
- Strong understanding of database design, caching, messaging, and high-concurrency systems
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Proven track record designing and scaling distributed systems in production
- Strong experience leading and mentoring engineering teams
- Deep expertise in backend languages (Java, Go, Python, Node.js, or similar)
