As a Marketing Operations Associate, you’ll own the operational and administrative work that supports NerdWallet’s Student Loans business. Reporting to the Senior Staff Marketing Lead as an individual contributor, you’ll work across the full Student Loans portfolio, handling the recurring execution that keeps our marketplace running—from lender compliance and external partner communications to revenue and cost reporting, affiliate campaign operations, partner contracts, and invoice reconciliation.

Your work will provide a reliable operational foundation that enables the team to scale marketing channels and pursue growth initiatives while helping consumers make informed financial decisions.

• Process lender-initiated compliance updates, including APRs, disclosures, and regulated content, across landing pages and internal systems. Coordinate with external partners to maintain marketplace accuracy and regulatory compliance.

• Build and maintain marketing reports and Google Sheets dashboards, including ad hoc month-over-month and year-over-year analyses, campaign and partner performance breakdowns, and monthly billing sheet accuracy reviews.

• Investigate and resolve discrepancies between reports and data sources.

• Manage landing page content and lender display order across the Student Loans marketplace. Set up new pages, update existing content, and support internal and lender requests, including logo split tests and partner-provided landing pages.

• Set up and configure affiliate campaigns in Voluum and share creative assets with traffic partners to support affiliate-driven acquisition.

• Reconcile partner billing and invoices across both sides of the marketplace. Validate inbound traffic-partner invoices, approve or deny invoices as appropriate, follow up on discrepancies, submit partner requisitions, audit lender-side invoices, and surface issues to marketing leadership.

• Maintain payout rates and revenue terms in internal administrative systems to support accurate reporting, bidding systems, partner reconciliation, and internal tracking.

• Manage the partner contract pipeline in Ironclad, tracking contracts through each workflow stage, identifying next steps, and following up with internal and external stakeholders to keep onboarding and renewals moving.

• Coordinate across lenders, traffic partners, Finance, Marketing, and internal teams to keep operational work moving from start to finish.

• Approximately 0–3 years of relevant experience preferred; candidates with additional experience will also be considered. Relevant backgrounds include marketing operations, affiliate or performance marketing, financial reconciliation, project coordination, account management, or other operational or administrative roles.

• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, Finance, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field preferred, or equivalent demonstrated experience.

• Proficiency in Google Sheets, including formulas, pivot tables, conditional formatting, and dashboard creation.

• Comfort working with numerical data, reconciling figures, spotting discrepancies, and maintaining accurate financial and operational records.

• Ability to quickly learn and use new platforms and internal tools, such as Voluum, Ironclad, WordPress, Amplitude, Databricks, and custom internal systems.

• Clear, professional written communication for correspondence with lenders, traffic partners, and internal teams.

• Exceptional attention to detail when working with regulated content, financial reconciliation, contracts, and external communications.

• Strong organizational skills and the ability to track multiple concurrent workstreams and follow through on outstanding items.

• A proactive approach to following up with external partners and internal teams to keep work moving.

• Sound judgment about when to act independently and when to ask questions or escalate.

• Adaptability and comfort switching between compliance, content, reporting, billing, contracts, and affiliate operations.

• Initiative in learning systems and processes and a willingness to seek and incorporate feedback.

• A collaborative approach, with open communication that supports shared decision-making.

• An ability to connect day-to-day operational work to broader business goals and NerdWallet’s mission of helping consumers make smart financial decisions.

• A commitment to building a team environment grounded in trust, transparency, and continuous improvement.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Hands-on experience with affiliate tracking, attribution, or click-tracking platforms such as Voluum, Impact Radius, Everflow, CAKE, or TUNE.

• Exposure to performance or affiliate marketing concepts, including cost per lead (CPL), cost per acquisition (CPA), attribution, and conversion tracking, along with basic familiarity with Google Ads or Meta Ads.

• Experience in fintech, lending, financial services, or another regulated industry where compliance, disclosures, and content accuracy are part of daily work.

• Familiarity with financial operations, such as accounts payable or receivable, invoice reconciliation, and billing audits.

• Working knowledge of SQL or experience pulling data from a data warehouse such as Snowflake, BigQuery, or Redshift.

• Hands-on experience with a contract management platform such as Ironclad or DocuSign CLM.

• Familiarity with a content management system, particularly WordPress, for landing page updates.

• Comfort using AI tools or lightweight automation, such as Claude Code, Zapier, or other LLM-based assistants, to streamline repetitive operational workflows.

• Hourly rate: $30-50/hr based on experience and location

• Engagement type: 3-6 month W-2 contract with the possibility of extension or conversion based on performance and business needs

• Estimated engagement period: November 2026 through April 2027

• Schedule: Up to 40 hours per week, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. (EST preferred)

• This role will be remote (based in the U.S.).
